Summary of Job Duties:
The Nurse Educator will assist in promoting, maintaining, and improving individual and community health of older adults (age 60 and older) by helping develop a curriculum for education of older adults. Duties will include, but are not limited to; ability to complete literature searches and work independently on developing clinical educational material; provide instruction in basic exercises for older adults via Zoom; take part in clinical protocols, recruit, and talk to participants on the phone or in person. He/She must be available to attend team meetings 3 times a week. He/She must have the ability and means for in state travel (target area of the grant) if needed

Educate older adults about pain medications and the risks associated with opioid medications. Develop educational material for older adults

Participate and provide research results for researchers and in managing protocol data and case report forms. Maintain research files, prepare participant binders and assist in recruitment of older adults for education and research projects

Participate at events such as health fairs and local conferences to promote the program (involves some travel)

Other duties as assigned



Diploma or Associate Degree; plus 5 years’ experience as an educator/instructor; including 2 years of experience in working with older individuals

Active RN License in the State of Arkansas in good standing with the Board of Nursing required

Must have experience in developing and writing projects or papers

Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

Ability and means for in state travel (target area of the grant)


BSN or Master’s degree in nursing or CHES

PowerPoint, Develop promotional materials – flyers, information cards, brochures, etc
