  • Define, plan, develop and implement/consult on major IT strategies, processes, or on-going programs with 2-4 broad cross-business technology impact.

  • May be responsible for execution/ implementation and on-going operational management of processes, etc. as they are developed.

  • Provide thought-leadership and applies area of expertise to technology matters to develop programs that are effective and efficient and to build support for the strategies with senior leadership across the technology organizations and/or client lines of business.

  • Utilize sophisticated research and analysis in addition to in-depth understanding of organizational goals/priorities and technology to develop executable strategies and plans. Leads implementation of complex projects/initiatives impacting one or more lines of business.

  • Typically interacts with senior leaders to provide support and drive strategic initiatives for the business. Decisions have significant direct impact on function and direct impact on LOBs.

  • Recommends compliance and risk management requirements for supported area and works with other stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives.

  • Primary interface with Financial Industry Leaders for supporting Business Lines. Supports interfaces with Technology Industry Leaders, Analysts and Regulators.


The Tech Business Services Principal Associate will work with Information and Cyber Security, other technology, business, and risk teams to:


  • Provide information and cyber security risk expertise and consult on products, projects, and programs and initiatives which may include providing systems security consulting on complex issues.

  • Analyze information security risk to assess impact, identify necessary controls and effectively manage change as controls are implemented.

  • Identify and engage peers, partners, and subject matter experts to assess information security risks and the effectiveness of controls.

  • Provide credible challenge and recommendations to technology and business teams on appropriate risk management.

  • Perform thought leadership on ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness of information security risk management and communicate them to management.

  • Provide general risk oversight and ad hoc risk consulting, working laterally with other risk consultants in the organization as needed.

  • Support the Business Information Security Office responsibilities within the Information Security Risk Assessment (ISRA) or evaluation process, which include consulting, facilitating approvals and tracking action plans.

  • Provide periodic information security risk performance reports for senior management.

  • May provide guidance to less experienced individuals.

Required Qualifications



  • 10+ years of technology experience

  • A BS/BA degree or higher

  • 5+ years of Operational Risk Management experience

  • 5+ years of information security experience

  • 4+ years of data collection and reporting experience

  • 2+ years of experience with formal risk assessment processes and managing to formal Service Level Agreements



Desired Qualifications



  • Experience managing large technology development efforts within a major line of business

  • Ability to influence across all organizational levels, particularly senior management

  • 3+ years of experience performing risk assessments

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to build business cases

  • Experience testing policy and procedures/control testing

  • Knowledge and understanding of information security strategy, risk assessments, architecture, and governance

  • Ability to influence across all organizational levels, particularly senior management

  • Ability to manage large or multiple technology development efforts within a major line of business

  • Ability to synthesize complex analytical findings into executive level communications

  • Ability to think strategically, implement, and deliver business objectives

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision in a structured environment

  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC)



Other Desired Qualifications



  • Experience reviewing testing strategies and methodologies; evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, initiatives, products and internal controls; and identifying issues resulting from internal and/or external compliance examinations

  • Strong experience with the Information Security Risk Assessment Process (ISRA)

  • Ability to develop operational reporting and performing complex data analysis

  • Experience working with internal and external auditors and examiners

  • Knowledge and understanding of information security policies and control standards

  • Knowledge and understanding of cyber security defense and monitoring processes and programs

  • Knowledge and understanding of project management standards, processes and tools

  • Knowledge and understanding of second line of defense role and line of sight visibility

  • Experience with Wells Fargo risk management tools such SHRP

  • A Master's degree or higher
