Auto Tungsten Furnace Operator

Duties and Requirements:

  • Observe all safety rules and wear appropriate PPE. Report all safety incidents, unsafe acts and conditions.

  • Monitor and change furnace condition (temperatures, boat weight, hydrogen flow, pull time, screen mesh)

  • Load/Unload oxide bins on furnaces

  • Label drums for shift and make up sample bags

  • Remove full bins and replace empty bins of powder

  • Check doors for leaks/ check screens for holes and remove top screen

  • Sweep spilled powder from the table and work area to reduce the amount of dust

  • Make screens and repair door

  • Keep furnaces and work area clean by sweeping, brushing or vacuuming

  • Sweep floors at end of shift

  • Scan material produced into computer

  • Perform other reasonable and related duties as assigned

Equipment Used:
Personal Protective Equipment, hoists, cranes, powder bins, furnaces, screeners, and scales

Skills/Knowledge Required:

  • Must be able to read and write

  • Basic Mathematical Skills

  • Record Keeping Skills

  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to use both hands at the same time while pushing, pulling, twisting, bending, lifting, stooping, and walking

  • Must have good eye/hand coordination with all physical movements well coordinated

  • Must be able to work for long periods, while standing

Job Conditions & Hazards:

  • Moderate Dust

  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 25kgs

  • Potential strains, pinch points, and lacerations

Education Guidelines:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

Experience Guidelines:

  • Minimum of one year experience working in a manufacturing environment
