Jamaica Aggregates Ltd. is a Joint Venture between LafargeHolcim and a local (Jamaican) RMX concrete producer. The Managing Director is responsible for managing the aggregates business and also serves as Chairman of the JV’s Board of Directors, which is made up of members from both equity owner organizations. In alignment with Strategy 2022, LafargeHolcim is actively looking to grow its business through value-creating bolt-on or other acquisitions and as such the Managing Director will manage the integration of any new businesses or operations added to portfolio.

The Managing Director is responsible for the achievement of safety and financial goals, as well as strategic management and execution of LafargeHolcim’s aggregates business in Jamaica. This is done primarily through creating a safe working environment; strategy development and execution; achieving profitable sales growth and operational excellence; and encouraging employee development and accountability. The Managing Director will develop and execute a vision for the market growth; provide leadership and direction for the employees; and lead by example in the areas of Safety, Health and Environmental stewardship.

  • Demonstrates and ensures a commitment to communicating, adhering, and improving safety policies in all work environments and areas

  • Accountable for achievement of safety and financial performance targets (P&L, Cash Flow, Working Capital)

  • Establishes clear financial, profit, and growth objectives and manages through strict performance controls

  • Functions as part of ACM team to carry out overall management responsibility for the region; directs development and recommends and implements strategies for most major aspects of area operations

  • Manages an international Joint Venture with a diverse board. Manage entire business with LafargeHolcim standards. Build trust and relationships, as well as hold local team and board responsible for safety, health, environmental stewardship, and financial growth.

  • Constantly drives the business towards continuous improvement in efficiency and competitiveness

  • Provides direct leadership on regional initiatives in line with overall company strategy and direction

  • Promotes positive relations with employees and all external groups, including customers, suppliers, government, JV partners, and general public.

  • Assesses market opportunities and develops annual business plans and strategies in terms of volume and expense budgets; ensures the execution of sales strategies to develop new opportunities locally and export in the Caribbean markets, Central & South America & USA, increase market share and promote profitable sales growth.

  • Other duties as assigned


  • Reports to Region Head, Mid-Atlantic ACM

  • Works directly with key stakeholders (GMs, Operations Managers, Plant Managers, Sales Managers)

  • Works closely with other functional teams (Safety, HR, Finance, Strategy)



Bachelor's/University Degree

Additional Education Preferred: Master's/Graduate Degree

Preferred field of study:
Operations Mgmt, Business, Engineering, related disciplines and/or equivalent experience

Work Experience:
7-10 years; 10+ years of relevant leadership experience

Travel Requirements
: Approximately 50-70% if living in United States

Additional Requirements

Computer and Software Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Sales Management Software, SAP and Financial Software experience a plus
