Digital Organizing Specialist is responsible for implementing a measurable digital organizing plan to increase overall support for reproductive health and rights in Nevada. An essential component of the job is community relations through recruiting and maintaining an activist base in targeted communities, and creating and maintaining effective digital campaigns to help support and uplift field organizing operations during the 2021 legislative session and beyond. The Digital Organizing Specialist will also coordinate digital mobilizations for phone banks, legislative activism, canvassing, volunteer trainings, Get Out the Vote initiatives, and voter education. They will serve as a member of Planned Parenthood Mar Monte (PPMM) and Planned Parenthood Votes Nevada (PPVNV) team and assist in educating local, state and federal office holders and voters on issues critical to the mission of Planned Parenthood
  • Serves as a member of a team; responsible for developing and implementing state and federal advocacy activities to be included in PPVNV’s Interim Legislative/Electoral Strategic Plan.

  • Creates and implements social media campaigns to expand and deepen the work of field organizers and broaden support for issues critical to the mission of Planned Parenthood.

  • Provide support in drafting and sending digital supporter communications including but not limited to: supporter emails, daily social media, graphics, and online actions such as petitions.

  • Recruits, develops, maintains and activates supporter base around federal and state legislative and electoral action.

  • Assists PPVNV and PPMM Public Affairs staff in development and execution of digital public affairs events including legislative conferences, lobby days, and other activities as assigned.

  • Conducts outreach to and maintains relationships with local coalitions, interested stakeholders, and other potential issue partners to build a public, digital partnership and presence.

  • Identifies digital events, actions or other online venues where PPVNV could be involved to promote the public policy agenda.

  • Identifies opportunities to recruit activists and promote the public policy and political agenda.

  • Assists with data entry, monitoring and tracking digital engagement, as well as tracking interactions with accounts of elected officials, partners and key stakeholders, including managing the Nevada Digital Scorecard.

  • Tracks and maintains lists of activists in various formats (VAN, EveryAction and other online formats).

  • Assists the PPMM Public Affairs Director and PPVNV Field Director, Executive Director and Strategic Programs Manager with other activities and related duties as assigned.

Ability to perform the duties described above. A typical means of acquiring those abilities would be:
  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Two-three years’ experience in a relevant field

  • Demonstrated experience managing new media properties

  • Demonstrated knowledge of legislative and electoral processes

  • Experience in campaign organizing and database management

  • Knowledge of reproductive health care issues and policies

  • Strong writing and editing skills required

  • Strong time management and organization skills

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, especially comfort in asking people to take action in communities of color and Latinx communities

  • Ability to work independently and willingness to regularly telecommute
